Gord was raised in Ontario and has lived in British Columbia, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Alberta. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Calgary while their three children and five grandchildren all live in beautiful British Columbia. He voted Conservative for the first time in 1988 to support free trade. After reading Preston Manning’s book, The New Canada, he joined the Reform Party in 1993. He is currently a Director of Calgary West and Calgary – Nose Hill EDAs. He was elected to National Council in 2007 and is Chair of the Constitution Committee and Vice-chair of the Nominations Committee.
