Raised in Brantford, ON and now lives in Toronto, ON John Walsh is a grassroots Conservative volunteer and public policy participant in his home riding of Toronto-Danforth where he lives with his wife Jillian and three children Duncan, Liam and Georgia. John was an active volunteer on the valiant Christina Perrault campaign battle against Jack Layton.
Since the 1980s, John has worked in numerous capacities for both the Conservative Party of Canada as well as the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario both as a campaign volunteer and as a full-time political staffer. He has held several senior political positions in Ottawa and Queens Park for the Minister of National Defence, the Prime Minister as well as the Minister of Finance.
Professionally, John is General Counsel and a Portfolio Manager in the Investment Division of a large Canadian Pension Fund. Previously, he practiced corporate law for 10 years at two of Canada’s leading law firms.
John is an active member of his church community in Toronto and a member of the Sick Kids Leaders Cabinet.
Growing up and attending high school in Brantford, Ontario, John then went on to graduate from Roberts Wesleyan College (BA HistoryPhilosophy), Rochester NY, Carleton University (MA Political ScienceInternational relations) and Osgoode Hall Law School (LLB).
